“Outdoor Celebrations For Every Season”
I love this book.
Not only is it absolutely stunning, the intention behind the seasonality that is in every year, inspires a sense of grounding within each season.
The book is divided into the four seasons and then a final chapter on Handcrafted Gifts.
At a young age, the author of this book, Hillary Munro, moved to a “tiny cowboy ski town in the American West”, as she puts it. Growing up in the harsher climates of the mountains, she grew a strong relationship and admiration for what mountain living truly was.
She beautifully paints a picture of each season and then shares rituals that keep in the theme of groundedness and staying present in each moment. She also ties in food with each season, even sharing recipes of her own.
Munro shares how- to’s for a number of seasonal activities such as wreath making in the winter or making peony arrangements as a gift in the summer.
