Gratitude to the Point of Tears: Morning Ode

Wasatch Range, UT - Gratitude

While eating breakfast this morning, I began taking in my surroundings and quickly became overwhelmed with gratitude- gratitude to the point of tears.

Hearing, Sight, Smell, Taste, Touch.

All of my senses are engaged into the beautiful scenes of the morning.

The soft, cool wind that is blowing on my cheeks.

The many shades of green that make up each tree.

The ruffle of feathers heard on each bird’s morning flight.

The laughter of a couple walking by, beginning their day hand in hand.

The sound of the biker rolling by on a cargo bike, with a curious little mind fastened into his seat.

The chorus of chirps heard coming from every direction, communicating in ways only birds can understand.

The happy tails of every dog sniffing curiously about, staying near to their owners on their morning stroll.

Mr. Sun, who’s light radiates a little bit more each minute that goes by.

The mountains changing colors with every moment that passes by, going from a hazy blue silhouette to a rocky, detailed facade.

The sound of the planes taking flight high up in the sky.

The ever-changing clouds, taking new shapes as the morning unfolds.

The way the shadows of the buildings and of the trees move as the sun continues making its way higher in the sky.

So, if you spot me eating breakfast on my balcony, and you see that I’m crying, know that I’m okay. Actually, I’m doing more than okay- I’m just so grateful 🙂

I feel like we can all use a little bit more gratitude, today and every day.

Intentionally pausing and being so genuinely grateful for every aspect that makes each day, the big and the small.

As always, sending you lots of love.

Until next time,

Cristina Marie
