A beautiful coffee table book full of photographs and deep dives into the stories behind rustic modern homes found throughout the American Mountain West.

Rustic Modern at its core, is “a response to the natural environment”. Homes that are highly engineered, modernized, yet still reference the original heritage of the environment in which they are in.

“It honors and celebrates traditional crafts and techniques while embracing new efficiencies and methods”.

I find a lot of inspiration in books like these that showcase homes that were meticulously curated and carefully designed with loads of intention and purpose.

This book is divided into sections that highlight each home, naming them descriptively such as Lakeside Rustic or Inspired by Art.

Each section then gives details on the team behind the build and tells the story behind the vision for the home. It also highlights details around the home that makes it special and unique.

It’s beautiful to see homes come alive and tell the story of those living in it.
